With her friendly and ever smiling people, beautiful landscape, scenery, vegetation and cool and temperate weather conditions, make Zimbabwe a top destination. It has great tourist facilities, which are unmatched in any way. An abundance of flora, fauna and avifauna makes it and all round destination. Victoria Falls is the country’s most popular tourist resort and the world’s most spectacular natural wonder, the seventh wonder of the world. The local people call it Mosi-oa-Tunya, “the smoke that thunders”, billows spray up to about 100m high when the river is full which can be seen some 70 km away. The Zambezi River, the fourth largest in Africa, which forms the falls also, provides some luxury sundown cruises all year round where hippos and crocodiles are a common sight. Great Zimbabwe ruins. This is where the history of the country is centered and, rightfully, the country derives its name from these structures. The occupation at Great Zimbabwe dates back to the 11th century until the 15th century when the local people dispersed due to various reasons. It is the largest and most significant ancient monument south of the Sahara. The Eastern Highlands, a golfer’s paradise and the highest part of the country with an altitude of over 2500m, the Kariba Dam, with its teeming fish and luxury cruisers available for hire all year round, Mana Pools National Park, one of Zimbabwe’s World Heritage Site, and Hwange National Park, the largest game park in the country all offers pristine and well managed wildlife areas in Africa.
